Note:
Firefox is best well-known for its speed, security and last but not least, it has the ability to customized with a lot "adds-on" than many other browsers.

Colour rating:

GREEN :Safe
WARNING: Serious risk issues.
CAUTION: Minor risk issues.
UNKNOWN: Not yet rated. Use caution.

1)McAfee's SiteAdvisor
Is a free browser plug-in that provides simple Web site safety ratings and a Secure Search box so you can surf, search and shop.

*It allows you to read about other people comments and also allows you to publish comment.
**Sometimes does not "show the colour" through a VPN connection.

2)WOT-Web of Trust - Similar to SiteAdvisor

For:

*It "show the colour" through a VPN connection.
**Sometimes it not "enable" and always shows "Activating WOT". Will have to restart Chrome to get it working.

3)Norton safe web- Test the website with Norton safe web and see what is the results.

4)Google Safe Browsing diagnostic page

Replace the http://ezysolutions.blogspot.com/ with your site.

5) Use a latest version of a good browser like Firefox or Chome. They will alert you if the website is found malicious.

So from the above above steps, we can somehow "judge" whether a particular website is good or bad. But how about its contents we are going to download?

6)If you are still in doubt of whether the software contains any Malware, send the downloaded files to http://www.virustotal.com/ to let them check.

7)Download from reputable sites. This is the best and most effective way that I could ever think of. Download the same file(if have) from download.com. Download.com always check the files they host regularly for malware.

8)If you know what program you want, go to that program's own site. Unless the program itself is malicious, it's not likely to be infected there.

If you follow the above steps, you will have no fear of bumping into any malicious websites.
