No CD drive

CD drive is gone:



Possible reason cause:
Sometime this problem is caused by uninstalling itunes from your computer. (They should rewrite their codes in itunes. :O)


Upper- / Lowerfilter problem

Upper- / Lowerfilter can cause problems while accessing CD/DVD/Blu-ray Disc drives.
To remove them, try following the below instructions:

1. Open Start -> Run
2. Enter "regedit" -> OK
3. Locate the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Class{4d36e965-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}
4. Open File -> Export in the menubar
5. Enter "savekey" as filename, and then press "Save".
(This is only a backup file, you can restore back if necessary.
6. Select the REG_MULTI_SZ data type "UpperFilters" and delete the whole entry(if available).
If you are prompted to confirm the deletion, select "Yes".
7. Select the REG_MULTI_SZ data type "LowerFilters" and delete the whole entry (if available).
If you are prompted to confirm the deletion, select "Yes".
8. Quit the Registry Editor and restart your computer.


Drive has returned:
