» Windows 7 laptop battery issue

[Last update on 02/03/2010, Tue]

According to this blog(http://www.pcterritory.net/) and through my friend's friend, window 7 have a battery issue on laptop which cause it suddenly loosing a great deal of capacity in the battery.

To be honest, my laptop's battery didn't experience in any downgrade performance. In fact, it lasts even longer than when I using Window Vista.

I'm currently using HP Pavilion dv6000 with Window 7 Enterprise installed.

Taken from social.technet.microsoft.com:

My 2 month old Asus Eee PC 900 is having the same issue as DanLee81. My HP dv9920us notebook has no such error message and it's battery is over a year old.

An annoyance at best but still needs to be addressed in the final version.

It seems that not all laptop is affected by this problem. From mine and the above message, HP seems to be unaffected by this problem.

Microsoft's stance is that the root cause of the issue is related to specific system firmware, meaning it only affects machines with certain BIOS releases.

For the time being, avoid this issue by charging your laptop battery only when computer is powered off.(Provided by http://www.pcterritory.net/)

But I think it will be better if you plug in your adapter and remove your battery so that you will not have to shut down every time to charge it when your battery is going to finish.
