» Computer blackout suddenly

[Last update on 01/03/2010, Mon]

This post dedicated to Guo Long.
Can be apply to anyone if having the same problem.
This solution is not 100% proven to be work as I didn't get any same or similar problems like his.
His Operating System: Window XP

Problems:
1) Computer will suddenly black out after a certain period of time and remain "off".(after using for5-50 minutes)

2) Computer too slow even after disk cleanup.

3) Not enough disk space due to small hard disk space and too much pictures.

4) Anti-virus is AVG.

Conclusions:
1) Black out suddenly might due to hardware being overheated or damaged. Other possible factors include wires/cables are loose or even might be malware infection.

2) Might be due to malware infections and too much defragmented files.

3) Due to limited disk space, too much pictures and other unnecessary programs are being installed.

4) Due to my previous experience with AVG, is uses a lot of system resource and it contains a lot of false positives. In tests, AVG have a average rating of detection over other anti-virus.

Possible solutions:
1) If it is really a hardware problem, the only solution is to replace/repair the damage part or even buy a new computer/laptop. If wires/cables loose, just make sure is not loose.

2) Malware infections/defragmented files/pictures size too big/ too much unnecessary programs.

3) Deletes "useless" photos and other "useless" stuff. Save all the files to your portable hard disk if you have and delete the files in your computer to "regain" disk space. You can even resize the pictures to a smaller file sizes. Defrag after that.

4) Use another free anti-virus with a better detection rates like Avira(AntiVir Personal) or Avast(Free edition).

Guide(Step-by-step):

1) Backup your data to your to portable hard disk if you have and delete the files in your computer. Read THIS guide on how to Increase space by reducing files sizes and other methods.

2) Do a window updates to ensure that you have the latest updates. New windows & software updates improve the speed of your computer. The new updated patch numerous vulnerabilities. If you have to install any service pack, skip that and install the next time.

3) Run Advanced systemcare to clean out all junks files, invalid registries that disk cleanup had missed.

4) Scan your comp with anti-virus and anti-spyware software.[Follow THIS guide to remove 100% virus/malware from your computer]
Computer viruses, worms, trojan horses, rootkits and spware will slows down your computer performance.

5) Use Auslogics Disk Defrag to defrag your files.Disk fragmentation leads to system slowdowns, PC crashes, slow startup and shutdown and sometimes to system failures.

Alternative solution:
The best way is to reformat and install all the programs one by one if you have the recovery disk and time to do it.
